By using DML, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Eligibility & your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account. Each person may only have one account.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when registering
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access
• You're responsible for all activity under your account

License to use DML

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the DML app and service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

This license

• Is personal to you and cannot be shared or transferred
• Does not give you ownership of the app or any content
• Can be terminated if you violate these terms

Updates

The app may update automatically. Continued use after updates means you accept any new features or changes. We recommend keeping automatic updates enabled.

Acceptable use

Use DML for its intended purpose - tracking your vehicles and accessing community insights.

You may not

• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Submit fake reviews, spam, or misleading information
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the service's operation
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data

User-submitted content

DML allows you to submit reviews, ratings, and other information about service providers and vehicles.

When you submit content

• You confirm it's accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You grant us permission to display and use it for community features
• We may remove content that violates these terms or is reported as inaccurate

Our liability

We don't verify every submission. User-submitted content (reviews, ratings, pricing data) represents individual experiences and may not reflect your experience. Use this information as one factor in your decisions.

Your data

You own your vehicle data, fuel entries, and maintenance records. By using DML, you grant us permission to store and process this data to provide the service.

• Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to improve pricing insights and mechanic ratings
• This aggregate data cannot identify you

Intellectual property

What's ours

• The DML name, logo, and branding
• The service's design, code, and functionality
• Aggregated insights and statistics we generate

What's yours

• Your personal data and vehicle records
• Content you create (reviews, notes)

You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our service without permission.

Third-party content & app stores

DML may include links to external websites and data from third-party sources (such as vehicle make/model databases).

• We're not responsible for content on external sites
• Third-party data is provided for convenience and may contain errors
• Your use of external sites is subject to their terms

App store terms

If you downloaded DML from an app store (Apple App Store, Google Play), you also agree to their terms of service. In case of conflict between these terms and app store terms, the more restrictive terms apply.

• Apple and Google are not responsible for DML or its content
• Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support for DML
• Any claims related to DML should be directed to us, not the app store

Service availability & changes

We provide DML "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that the service will meet your specific needs.

We may

• Modify or discontinue features at any time
• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• Change the service with or without notice

Data accuracy

Pricing data, mechanic ratings, and vehicle statistics are based on user submissions and may not reflect current market conditions or your specific circumstances.

Limitation of liability

Not professional advice

DML provides information, not professional advice. We're not mechanics, financial advisors, or insurance professionals. Don't rely solely on DML data for important decisions about vehicle safety or major expenses.

Use at your own risk

• We're not liable for decisions you make based on our data
• We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to fees you've paid us in the past 12 months

Account termination

By you

You can delete your account anytime through the app settings. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

By us

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• We may terminate accounts engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• We'll try to notify you before termination when practical

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.

Resolving disputes

• Contact us first - most issues can be resolved informally
• If we can't resolve it, disputes will be handled in South African courts

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
